In the course of development for many years, the private higher education in our country is a tortuous road. Faced with the contradiction between supply and demand of higher education and the need to improve the quality of the whole nation, how to promote the development of private higher education in China has aroused great concern. From the perspective of government regulation, this paper analyzes the internal logic of government regulation and finds out the existing problems in the field of government regulation by observing the influence of government regulation on the development of private colleges and universities. And on this basis, combined with the development of private colleges and universities, puts forward the ideas, principles and measures to regulate the government regulation, so as to actively promote the development of private higher education to provide a theoretical and practical exploration. This thesis consists of five parts:The first part is introduction, mainly introduces the perspectives of government regulation of the research background, research purpose and meaning, summarizes the related research in this field. And the government regulation and the concept of private colleges are defined.Private colleges in the second part is the inherent logic of government regulation, which is why the government regulation on private colleges. First of all, through the analysis of the product attributes of higher education, we have to welfare and marketability private higher education has two basic properties. Mainly includes the government regulation role conflict, the government regulation way using inappropriate, government regulation mechanism is not scientific.The fourth division is put forward the corresponding solutions for the above problem.
