The traditional teaching is inefficient and less fruitful. The project-based teaching method can efficiently combine social life with specialized courses to resolve teaching content into an operable project. In a simulated working scenario, under the guidance of teachers, students can build their own knowledge system. This is a new try for teaching practices of English for liberal art students. This paper consists of six parts. Chapter One is the introduction part, which introduces the origin, status, thinking, methods and significances of this research. Chapter Two is an overview of the project-based approach. After a detailed illustration of the definition of the project-based approach, the theoretical background, operation flows and design principles of the project-based approach are discussed. Chapter Three analyzes feasibility and necessity of applying the project-based approach to English teaching in secondary vocation schools. Chapter Four introduces the theme part of this research, namely practical exploration of the project-based approach to Modular English. First, the teaching background of Modular English is introduced. Then, the practical exploration process of the author is introduced. Following that, three case designs are introduced, the implementation process is described and the project-based approach is well applied to the English subject teaching. Chapter Five is the data collection, analysis and conclusion of practical exploration. This chapter compares the control class and the test class based on test, interview and questioning results before and after the implementation of the project-based approach. The data thus obtained are analyzed to come to specific conclusions. Chapter Six is an overview of existing problems and prospects. The author points out limits of this research and issues needing further research attention.I use Interview, Q&A, Class Observation and Experiment methods etc., Take "Module English" teaching materials to make teaching research, then conclude that the project-based approach can not only use in practical operating but also can use in English Teaching of secondary vocational school.
