Graduate education is to improve the overall quality of higher education in our country, it provides rich human resources and promote the development of national scientific research. In graduate education, the relationship between the tutor and the master is the basic content of the teacher-student relationship and interpersonal relationship, which is run through the whole process of the graduate education and even affect postgraduate cultivation of quality.the tutor’s counseling and guidance on postgraduate professional theory learning, research and daily life is comprehensively and deeply.And China’s postgraduate education mainly is tutorial responsibility system, namely the tutor for postgraduate training. Therefore, the study of the relationship between tutors and graduate students in education is particularly important, the status is not to be ignored.Academic guidance, scientific research cooperation and daily communication are the basic contents of the relationship between teachers and students. This paper focuses on discussion and analysis of the basic content. Based on the Role theory, Communication theory, Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, Interpersonal relationship management theory, And using literature, questionnaire survey, interview, data statistics research methods, combined with quantitative and qualitative analysis of the relationship between teachers and students. Mainly from five dimensions of questionnaire and analysis, containing academic guidance, cooperation in scientific research, daily communication, mutual evaluation and expectations between teachers and students, And from the five dimensions design specific teacher-student relation index. Including mentor graduate students to go to graduate school, the basic information of teachers and students, academic conference, participation in mentor’s scientific research task, teachers and students to each other’s satisfaction and so on.Through the practical investigation, and draws some important conclusion:tutors and postgraduates teacher-student relationship satisfaction evaluation is higher; containing teacher’s character, academic level, scientific research ability, academic status, mentor graduate guidance and care needs to be raised; postgraduate students expect teachers to guide in the academic, life, employment and other aspects are diversified, students need to improve in professional knowledge, research ability and learning actively active; The relationship between teachers and students, which is closely and satisfaction, is presented positive correlation. However, the following main problems existed between teachers and students:lack of communication and between teachers and students; academic guidance inadequate and lack of the effectiveness; teachers and students do not have equal status; management system is not perfect, mainly related to graduate education management system, tutor selection in the tutorial system, and the teacher appraisals system. Through the description of the relationship between teachers and students, analysis of influencing factors mainly in the management point of view. Finally, put forward to countermeasures and suggestions about the optimization between teachers and students from the teachers and students, school, the management system.
