| As a traditional Olympic sport, Handball has experienced a rather insufficient development in China. Reserve talents cultivation plays a significant role in pushing this very sport forward. Therefore, greatly promoting handball culture in our society, especially among the primary and middle schools, determines whether handball can develop in a healthy and dynamic way in China. This paper lays heavy emphasis on the comparison between the traditional handball education schools and handball education promoting ones so that problems in both can be found and solved. Meanwhile, this paper also offers solutions to perfect the handball reserve talents cultivation system and manages to explore a campus handball development pattern for the youth in the hopes that this sport can enjoy a considerable progress in China.This paper conducts an overall, systematic and effective research on 17 traditional handball education schools, 16 handball education promoting schools, professional coaches and players together with their performance and achievement, with the application of document retrieval method, interviewing method, field method along with comparative analysis method. It has brought us findings that the popularity of handball among Chinese youngsters is relatively low, coaches and staff in this area lack professionalism, the cultivation system is not complete as well as that the training concept is not quite clear. To better tackle those problems, the author comes up with conclusions that the number of youth handball games on the national level should be raised, coaches should improve their professional ability, teaching and practicing should be closely combined, management in traditional handball education schools should be enhanced, more handball youth clubs should be established, training syllabus for youth should be perfected, the sight of youth handball players should be broadened, the entire reserve talents cultivation system should be strengthened. |
