Memory is the cognitive profile of the study, which is needed to accomplish human learning. However, due to the individual differences between people, memory and memory forms are not identical as well, which will more or less influence individual learning. A growing number of researches show that the memory has positive correlation with learning achievements, so learning how to memorize is a powerful tool to improve the study. The first and foremost step of learning knowledge through the ability of memory is the sensory memory, and students utilize the competence related to sensory memory instinctively to memorize information briefly and transitorily and then put the knowledge into suitable forms to memorize, master and apply into practice. In psychology, the human sensory memory are divided into several genres, including auditory memory, visual memory, kinesthetic memory and so on. Although the sensory memory is transitory, it has an important impact on thinking. If we can make multi-sensory memories synergize and cooperate with each other, the effect can be extended which can make effect to help the sensory memory transits into short-term memory to complete the learning for knowledge. To promote multi-sensory memory can improve the efficiency of memory. In math class of elementary schools, teachers choose the teaching designs and carry out teaching strategy in accordance with students’ memory characteristics according to their preferences in sensory memory. This not only helps the smooth implementation of the teaching plans, but also assists teachers in helping students to explore the formation of knowledge better, to develop the students’ learning ability, and improve their academic performances. The thesis focuses on the implementation of the teaching strategy in mathematics teaching in the elementary school which is based on the theories above. This thesis also examines students’test scores before and after using the teaching strategy and then comes to a conclusion that the teaching strategy which promotes students’ multi-sensory memory can really improve students’ performances and has certain effectiveness in the elementary school mathematics teaching.
