In Chinese education, the purpose of calligraphy education is not only making the students write beautifully, but also cultivating students’ humanistic quality and aesthetic consciousness, so as to play the function of educating people and nourishing heart. Chinese calligraphy education has multiple functions. The function of aesthetic education can help students form unique aesthetic experience and feel the unique beauty of calligraphy culture.The moral function can cultivate students’ sentiment and moral gradually and experience the ancient’s noble moral emotion. The function of intellectual education can help students broaden their horizons and increase knowledge.Therefore, the study of calligraphy has important significance and value on the physical and mental health of primary school students. Calligraphy education’s returning to the classroom is not only the need of national and social development, but also the require of comprehensive development of students.The basic content of Chinese Calligraphy Education in primary school is reading and writing word. The basic goal is to improve students’ writing ability and developing good writing habits. Chinese teachers play an important role in the process of teaching.Cultivating students’ aesthetic consciousness and integrating it into the traditional culture and education, which is not only the content of Chinese education, but also the important function of calligraphy education. To do this, we need to pay more attention to calligraphy teaching in elementary school. According to the level of physical and mental development of students in different learning periods, we need to make different development goals and take targeted teaching strategies.This paper is divided into four parts. The introduction part mainly tank about the research background and significance, concept definition, literature review, research methods, etc. The first chapter arranges and summarizes questionnaire survey and interview survey about soft pen calligraphy education in the prime school. The second chapter explains the reason of Calligraphy Education’s current situation in primary schools. For countries and schools, the reasons including lack of calligraphy education system and examination system, the lack of a sound mechanism for the evaluation of calligraphy, the lack of a unified calligraphy teaching materials, calligraphy teaching staff is weak. For countries and schools, I focus on the single teaching method of theteachers and insufficient students’ learning interest. The last chapter put forward proposals based on the current situation of education. First, countries and schools further improve the calligraphy education system, and increase the content of soft pen calligraphy in Chinese curriculum standard.Secondly, put the calligraphy into the examination.Thirdly, combine with soft pen calligraphy textbook and Chinese textbook in the primary school. Finally, strengthen the training of teachers of Chinese calligraphy. This part emphasizes that teachers should actively implement the calligraphy grading teaching, including basic teaching and different teaching. Based on the Chinese language characters teaching, using multimedia technology to improve the students’ interest in learning calligraphy.
