Cultural exchanges between Cambodia and China have a long history, and the Chinese have been moving to Cambodia. As the investment of Chinese enterprises, so learning Chinese becomes an essential skill of finding a good job and a lot of parents are very supportive of their children to learn Chinese in Chinese schools, and they even think that if their children don’t learn Chinese, their children will not find a good job. Chinese education in Cambodia has been a hundred years of history, and once the Chinese people who moved to Cambodia have created various forms of Chinese schools.Although the history of Chinese education in Cambodia is relatively long and it also has a relatively complete teaching system, but there has not been a unified Chinese-teaching Syllabus, and its teaching materials are also relatively simple. Now, there are many Cambodian schools offering Chinese courses, but the teaching is quite confusing. In author’s Kratie province in Cambodia, through the survey about Chinese teachers and students in four Chinese schools in Kratie province, we found that there are many problems in Chinese education, but the biggest problem was undoubtedly about the textbook, because teachers and students generally think that there are many new words and the text contents are obscure and the texts are not suitable for the reality. Therefore, this paper aims to analyze Cambodian primary school textbooks "Chinese", to explore its advantages and disadvantages, and combined with the characteristics of students’ learning, to put forward suggestions for compiling textbooks, and we hope we can compile more targeted Chinese textbooks that are more suitable for Cambodian students.This paper can be divided into five parts:The first chapter: Introduction. It includes reason of selecting this topic, current research status, purpose and significance of research, theory and methods of research and other issues.The second chapter: according to questionnaire of Chinese teachers and students in four Chinese schools in Kratie province, we analyze some information about teachers and students and usage of textbook in four Chinese schools in Kratie province in Cambodia.The third chapter: on the basis of the questionnaire, we analyze Cambodian primary school textbooks "Chinese" systematacially from the aspects of illustration, style, vocabulary, spelling, texts, exercises and cultures.The fourth chapter: according to the author’s own teaching practice, combined with students’ errors in learning "Chinese", and analyze reasons of the errors, and then we point out that the main problem existing in primary school textbook "Chinese", and finally we put forward some recommendations for compiling textbooks reasonably.The fifth chapter: conclusion.
