There is increasing emphasis on education cause in our country, and the government continues to launch the policies that is beneficial to development of education, especially the development of rural education. Nine-year compulsory education that had been implemented since 1986 is provided with three basic nature of mandatory, public, welfare and unity. Under the protection of the law, the rights of students to receive education has been protected well, and situation of dropping out of school rarely exists in primary and secondary school. But under the surface of this situation, there are severe situation of dropping out of school in some rural areas depth investigation will find that simply put the students of recessive dropout refers that’s that students who have student status but man being at school while heart gone, and students who are not at school, though the school secretly human operator and will end studies after graduating from junior high school. The existence of such hidden social phenomenon will waste educational resources, hindered the promotion of education, and poses the threat for the students themselves and the stable of society.Scholars and educators have been concerned about this phenomenon, conducted a social survey and proposed concrete response measures, but few social work have not concerned about and involved in this phenomenon. Social work has functions of prevention, rehabilitation and development for social problems and social phenomena, intervene in when the issues is in the quantitative phase, and enhance the ability of case subject to deal with the problems, and have great advantages to solve the problem, so I will try to intervene in students of recessive dropout in rural middle school.This paper do research by using literature research, filed research and case study method in B village, A province, and intervene for case subject by using case social work.After paying attention to this social phenomenon in B village, A province, the author assess to literature to have a basic understanding for recessive dropout problem, and know about the situation of recessive dropout of school in local school though establish contacts with the leader of local junior high school, and select case subject who will be intervened with the assistance of the leader of local junior high school. After establish professional relationships with potential case subject, the author will collect information of case subject, analyze the issues of case subject, develop the goals and programs of intervention, intervene in the issues of case subject depending on the target, and finish the final assessment and conclude; in the course of the two-month intervention, the author mainly used case interview method to establish professional relationships of trust and acceptance under the guidance of one of the person-centered therapy approach. In the course of interview, the author strives to create environment in favor of counseling, guide case subject to show themselves, explore their real needs, clarify the relationship issues with themselves, exert their potential, help case subject establish a reasonable and positive self-concept to solve the problem, while launching significant others around case subject to support, guide and supervise and supplement by practical activities to consolidate the change of case subject. By intervention, case subject establish confidence, have a proactive and positive attitude to learn, change the recessive dropout manifestations gradually, return to the classroom, and achieve the situation that people in the heart is also in.It is proved that the person-centered therapy approach have advantages and role in the process of case intervention through this study. The person-centered therapy approach emphasizes the therapeutic effect of the professional relationship, think that self-concept determines human behavior, the idea of the person-centered therapy approach is to assist the growth of case subject, enhance the ability of case subject, to deal with the problems, and not just to solve the problem, but also to achieve the goal of help people help themselves. Therefore, the person-centered therapy approach have a natural advantage in improving the unreasonable concept of recessive dropout students for involving in this group. At the same time, although casework using the person-centered therapy approach have remarkable effect, it still has its own limitations in the interventional efficiency and interventional scope, so in the future social work intervention process, it should be integrated others models and other methods to make intervention to maximize.
