At the moment when the breakthrough results have been achieved in controlling dropout and guaranteeing schooling, each individual who has dropped out of school has distinct particularities.A large number of scholars at home and abroad have used social work methods, based on psychology, sociology, social work and other related theories,to conduct intervention research on the two groups of school bullying and hidden dropout, and have achieved practical success.According to the author’s research on the literature, there are few social workers who have conducted case intervention research on the group of bully-victims who are both bullies and victims of bullying in the group of hidden dropout. This study took a junior high school girl who dropped out of school as the research object, analyzs the influencing factors and mechanism of the hidden dropout, explores the factors hindering her return to school, considers the internal relationship between the factors affecting dropout and the factors hindering her return to school. This study tries to use the social work casework method to help her return to school,to explore the practice model of using cognitive behavioral therapy to help implicit dropout students return to school and to evaluate its effectiveness. This study selects the junior high school girl named X who was referred by the Nanjing J District People’s Procuratorate as the research object. This research will use cognitive behavioral therapy, and provide casework for her through the basic service process of social work. The results show that casework has achieved good results. The study believes that irrational cognition is the internal mechanism that leads to the hidden dropout of the client, and the reasons for hidden dropouts and subsequent life and emotional experiences are common obstacles for the client to return to school.Cognitive behavioral therapy can effectively assist clients to recognize and change irrational beliefs, establish reasonable beliefs, and solve problem behaviors. However, the problem of hidden dropout could not be solved in effect, but this parctice stimulates the client’s interest in skill learning in vocational school. This intervention research process is divided into three stages. In the early stage of intervention, the study is committed to consolidating the professional relationship, grasping the client’s growth environment, understanding the client’s past school experience, and inspiring the client to think about how to prepare for returning to school. In the middle of intervention, through empty chair therapy and Socratic question-and-answer method, the study aims to help the client find her irrational beliefs about school bullying and hidden dropout, guide the client to confront herself, and teach the client to vent her negative emotions reasonably;the social worker would conduct family education for her mother and encourage the client’s mother to communicate with the client in a more scientific way;if the plan which would like to help the client back to school is frustrated, the study would assist the client to challenge the relevant irrational beliefs, and stimulate the interest of the learning of skills through storytelling;the service provider would use real cases to educate clients on safety, and guide the client to change her unreasonable consumption concepts by formulating reasonable plans;the research would confront and rebuild client’s irrational beliefs about her mother, and instruct client on how to get along with her mother correctly. In the later stage of intervention, the social worker would use the method of watching movies together to guide the client to understand herself and help her learn how to properly maintain relationships with peers. After confirming the effectiveness of the intervention through intervention outcome evaluation and social worker self-assessment,the study would assist the client to review the service process and consolidate service effectiveness. Finally, the researcher would discuss and reflect on this service from three aspects: personal professional practical ability, case work method, cognitive behavioral therapy to accumulate practical experience.
