With the new reform of basic education curriculum,improving the quality of education has become an important task of education.The teacher is the key to improving the quality of education,to intensify the construction of teachers troop is the most important groundwork.Each year there are a large number of graduates enter the post of teachers,helping the early entered teacher change from the novice teachers to the proficient teacher quickly is one of the most important work of intensifying the construction of teachers troop.Teachers’ in-service training is the most important way to achieving professional development.On the basis of studying the relevant literature,making investigation of teachers,this paper attempts to study on the professional development of biology teachers in middle school through the perspective of teachers’ in-service training.The main research contents include the following parts:Fisrtly,comparing the in-service training system of middle school teachers in China with that in United States and Japan by literature research method.The teacher in-service training system in America has joined the teacher in-service training,teacher’s qualification authentication,the authentication,and evaluation of the teacher in-service training institution together,to motivate teachers to participate in-service training, and to urge the development of teacher traininginstitutions.On the mode of the in-service training,America created the Professional Development School which made universities and middle schools achieve equal cooperation,and made university professors, teachers in middle school,students in university become a community of teaching and research,making up for the lack of separation of theory and practice in the in-service training of middle school teachers.The development of in-service training system for beginning teachers in Japan is more mature,it has specialized the new teacher training system for teachers at the beginning of the entry,the the new teacher training System made detailed provisions for the new teacher in-service,including the purposecontent,object,research plan,guidance plan,subject guidance teacher and so on.Then, researching the middle school biology teachers in Changsha within three years of the entry with the questionnaire survey method,to research the current situation of the in-service training and professional development of the biology teachers in the middle school in Changsha, and to collect teachers ’ feedback to the in-service training:including the assistance to the professional growth, the problem of the in-service training system and the suggestion to solve the problem.Then the researcher interviewed the experienced middle school biology teachers and the school administrators.On the basis of the questionnaire, the in-service training of the middle school biology teacher in Changsha has basically been popularized,themost of teacher take part in the training for improving teaching practice ability,expanding subject knowledge,accumulating educational practice;for the new teacher,the school-based in-service training is the mainly way to participate the participation;the school-based training is mainly conducted in the form of apprenticeship;the most teachers believe that school-based training has a great improvement to teaching design ability, classroom organization and management ability.So we know that the most of the teachers surveyed still belong to novice teachers,or is in the stage that translate to the proficient teachers.The study found that there are some problem in the current in-service tranining system :it is difficult to take into account both the training and the teaching routine;the in-service training lack of contaction with education teaching practice;the equipment in the training institutions is not perfect and can’t meet the requirements of the in-service training;some of the teachers don’t realize the necessity of the participation in in-service training and the professional development.Finally, for the problems teachers reflect on the survey,this study put forward four countermeasures to perfect teachers’ in-service training system in China,and to promote the professional growth of the new teachers in middle schools:(1)strengthening the teaching implementation ability of the new teachers;(2)regarding teachers as the subject to optimize the training content and form;(3)enhancing teachers’ participation in in-service training;(4)perfecting the teachers’ in-service training incentive mechanism.
