As a social vulnerable group, abandoned children are difficult to enjoy the benefits and convenience brought by the social development in any way. They are under the pressure from all sides of the social and live a much harder life than their peers. Not only in psychological level, their mental life also need our care and attention. As a special group, they mostly live in welfare houses in group. There is also foster care and adoption, but quite part of the abandon of children by their family is due to illness or disability, so they are unable to get the opportunity to be adopted. Internationally, these children are adopted forwardly, because of the fertility rate in developed countries decline, there are less and less children born, so they tend to adopt children in developing countries. But the active adoption is to meet the needs of the adoptive parents, so they tend to adopt healthy children, both in physical and mental. This also makes the disabled children in our country difficult to have the opportunity to be adopted and welfare homes as their living places, need to give them both material and spiritual care. The study of the children in welfare institution is mainly focused on the institution and existing problems of the welfare institution. In turn, the life and situation of the children living there are always ignored. Fewer researches focus on exploring problems existing in the psychological aspect to further reveal their life situation, explaining their different behaviors which the public do not understand and accept. And exploring more ways to help them grow up healthily, integrating and building healthy and good social relationships in the social contact.By using the theory of attachment to study the mental condition and need of the abandoned children in welfare houses is a new view and method. This study is based on the attachment theory, working by social case work to study the abandoned children living in welfare houses, to help to correct their insecure attachment behaviors. Through six consecutive case works, helping the case subjects to know themselves and improve their level of self-respect, finally help to direct establishing normal mode and the healthy interpersonal environment of the case subjects. The ultimate goal of the study is to help the case subjects to improve the ability of establishing safe attachment with others and develop healthy interpersonal relationship in social network.
