Research Of The Present Situation And Countermeasure On Senior Students’ Ocean Consciousness

Our country has more than 3 million ocean territories. However, our citizens have weak oceanic consciousness, which can’t compare with developed countries. As we all know, education is one of the important ways to change people’s minds and build up their humanity. Thus, middle school students, as the leading figures in the development of the ocean, should be guided to recognize the important values of the human survival and development and to enhance citizen’s consciousness in the future.Based on the existed research achievements, this paper describes the basic meanings of oceanic consciousness, investigates the current situation and effect actors of senior high school students’oceanic consciousness and brings out the specific strategies. The research found that the oceanic consciousness contains the national cognition in a certain period and the development of the oceanic resources, including the oceanic rights’ consciousness, oceanic territory’s consciousness, oceanic resources’consciousness and oceanic environmental consciousness and so on. Based on the practical researches in Weihai No.4 Senior High School, the senior high school students have weak oceanic consciousness in general. Students have strong oceanic rights’consciousness but lack of the related knowledge of oceanic territory and oceanic law knowledge. The influence of the traditional opinions, the lack of related education and the ignorance of the oceanic consciousness’s publicity are all the key factors to result in this situation. Therefore, this paper puts forward some ways to foster the senior high school students’oceanic consciousness, including establishing the senior high school students’oceanic course, exerting the social voices, developing the local school-based courses.
