Objective: The saying goes "old legs first old".Fall down phenomenon often occurs in the elderly population. Discussion on health and fitness and promoting the aged lower limb stability has important practical significance. In this paper, the elderly participate Qigong Baduanjin and Wuqinxi exercise as the main content, we explored the effects of two kinds of Qigong exercise on the aged lower limb stability and balance ability through the changes of the test indicator between two kinds of Qigong three months before and after exercise and the date of comparison between them and the control group.Method: In the area of Quzhou County of Handan, Hebei, we screened for the aged of voluntarily participating in Qigong exercise and testing, and finally selected 60 elderly as the subjects, aged between 60 to 69 years. They were randomly assigned to three groups: Qigong- Baduanjin experimental group 20, Qigong- Wuqinxi experimental group 20, control group 20 through the principle of matching. Test indicators: Stand on one foot with eyes closed test, Strengthen Romberg,SR test, the timed“up & go”test, beam-walking test, marking time with eyes closed test, the vestibule steps test six indicators. The experiment lasted three months, exercise five times(Monday to Friday, Saturday and Sunday rest) weekly, each exercise 60-70 minutes. We carried on twice on above six indicators tested in three different groups, then the experimental results were statistically analyzed before and after the experiment. Results: In Stand on one foot with eyes closed test, Strengthen Romberg,SR test, the timed“up & go”test, beam-walking test, Wuqinxi group and Baduanjin group were significantly different from the control group(P<0.05), and in Stand on one foot with eyes closed test, beam-walking test, there were also significant differences between Wuqinxi and Baduanjin(P<0.05), Wuqinxi better than Baduanjin; In marking time with eyes closed test, Wuqinxi and Baduanjin were no significant differences with the control group(P>0.05), namely, they were no significant effect in improving athletic performance; In the vestibule steps test, Wuqinxi group and the control group had significant differences(P<0.05), namely, Wuqinxi exercise improved athletic performance of the practitioners. Baduanjin group and the control group had no significant difference(P>0.05), namely, the role of Baduanjin in the scores of improving the vestibule steps test was not significant.Conclusions:(1) By three months of experiments, the stability of the lower limbs situation of Baduanjin group were higher than beofer, but with varying degrees of increase. It instructed that Baduanjin exercise can improve the stability of the lower limbs of the aged.(2) By three months of experiments, the stability of the lower limbs situation of Wuqinxi group were higher than beofer, but with varying degrees of increase. It instructed that Wuqinxi exercise can improve the stability of the lower limbs of the aged.(3) By three months of experiments, the six test scores of Baduanjin group and Wuqinxi group both were higher than beofer, but the two differ in the extent to improve performance. In Stand on one foot with eyes closed test, beam-walking test, there were also significant differences between them(P<0.05), Wuqinxi better than Baduanjin. It showed that practicing Baduanjin and Wuqinxi can improve the stability of the lower limbs of the aged, but in a way, Wuqinxi impacted on the stability of the lower limbs of the aged more effective.
