Research Of Home-Stay Intustry In Traditional Village And Its Community Participation

Chinese traditional villages are the crystallization of the development of Farming Society. They are historic living fossils, which are scarce, frail and non-renewable. These traditional villages have scientific, aesthetic and historical value and need imminent protection. However, pure protection is not a good option. Under the reqirment of sustainable development, with protecting village resources effectively and encouraging village residents to participate in, developing home-stay industry moderately is a good way. It promotes not only economic growth, but also the improvement of village environment, the renovation of historical buildings and the inheritance of traditional culture.Based on related research achievements of community participation in tourism and home-stay industry, the thesis takes advantage of Sustainable Development Theory, Participatory Development Theory and Social Exchange Theory. It also uses development experience of home-stay industry at home and abroad for reference. This thesis takes Tong Lu County as an example. According to the content of literature review, questionnaire survey and deep interviews, do some qualitative analysis in the development conditions, current development situation and development problems of home-stay industry in Tong Lu County, and also do descriptive analysis, mean analysis, factor analysis and multiple linear regression analysis for the questionnaire survey data by using SPSS 19.0. The thesis aims to know the extent of the participation of traditional villages’ residents in planning and policies, operation and management, education and training, the increasing power of community, and draw a conclusion that this participation has a positive influence in the willingness of participating in protecting traditional villages. At the end of the thesis, the author refines a sustainable development model of home-stay facility in Chinese traditional villages. And the author also puts forward five development countermeasures based on the model, which are’the other organization supporting’,’self-organization management’,’encouraging elites to participate’,’guaranteeing to increase the power of residents’and’building home-stay syntheses and developing home-stay tourism deeply’.
