Narrative is namely the writing type that authors describe what they have seen, heard, thought and felt. It is one of the most important parts of junior Chinese teaching, also the basis to have other types written. That is why how to write a narrative in teaching junior Chinese is of great importance. By interviews, case analysis, questionnaires and so on, this paper has documented the present situation of writing a narrative for students in junior school.The researches shows that teachers and even the society value it very much,problems come at the same time. For example, the examination-oriented education system is in the way. Teachers don’t grasp knowledge of essay writing systematically and this can’t be changed in a short time. So at this point, by reusing the old method of cultural heritage inheriting, selecting some theories Mr. Zhu Shangshu studied in Essay Writing in Song and Yuan Dynasties which are fit for junior narrative writing and teaching, this paper mainly discusses three aspects as theme, passage and rhetoric theory and proposes unique understandings combined with facts to give some inspirations and suggestions for junior school teachers.There are five chapters in this paper. The first part briefly introduces the content and methodologies by analyzing the significance and studies at home or overboard of the research. The second takes students and teachers from Grade one in Hualin Campus of Guiyang No.18 Middle School as objects to analyze reasons of the present junior narrative writing and teaching from the perspective of society and teachers. And the third to fifth chapters respectively discuss the theme, passage and rhetoric theory selected from Essay Writing in Song and Yuan Dynasties which are fit for junior narrative writing and teaching. The aim of this paper is to improve students’ skills of writing a narrative and teachers’ teaching efficiency by providing theoretical instructions and specific methods.
