In the rural junior high schools of our country, it’s very difficult to change the current backward condition of exam-oriented education within a short time. But hard to change doesn’t mean can’t change. Education without aesthetic factor is a kind of incomplete education, which always hard to achieve the goal of cultivating a well-rounded person. Being a means of self-improvement, aesthetic education, in essence can make the spiritual life of a person more beautiful and healthy, meanwhile it can provide spiritually fragmented modern person with more flawless and vitality. This is especially true for the rural junior high school students whose thoughts are relatively backward. What’s more, it is the call of the times for aesthetic education while developing.As for the current situation and countermeasures of aesthetic education in rural junior high schools in Shandong province, the author, by the method of interview and empirical analysis, gave out 1000 surveys(for teachers), among which 682 were withdrawn. Thereby, related issues were settled and analyzed concretely. This interview involves 30 junior high schools in 10 cities as Liaocheng, Binzhou, Zibo, Weifang, Taian, Linyi, Heze, Dezhou and Dongying.Starting from the important status and role of aesthetic education in rural junior high schools, surveys in this thesis put forward some countermeasures based on the existing problems and causes, hoping to bring about the attention of education management in levels of nation, province, city and county as well as to fully mobilize the enthusiasm of teachers and students, so as to achieve an ideal result for aesthetic education.What’s needs to be stressed is that aesthetic education would become rootless if it separates itself from the rich and colorful traditional culture of our vast rural areas. Therefore, the author presents that a large number of actual work should be based on the criticism, absorption, promotion and creation of the Chinese rural traditional culture in order to advance the construction of aesthetic education in rural junior high schools, which is also the stance of this thesis.
