Biology is a subject based on experiment. Students can acquire knowledge, train experimental ability and team work spirit by experiment teaching. Howerer, It showed that biology experiment is not effective and the offered rate is low in most school because of unsuitable materials, lack of teaching hours, some difficult experiments, and so on. In this paper, taking the experiments of PEP compulsory biology One of senior middle school as a example, the experiment teaching was optimized from experimental materials selection and process and teaching strategy, and then, teaching practice were performed. It was hoped that the research will help to the biology experiment teaching implement and deepen reform of high school.The optimised experiment teaching includes the following:(1) The materials are selected by preliminary experiment, followed the principle of scientificity, ready availability, cheap, seasonality, locality, and so on. Besides, materials pretreatment is also necessary as it ensure the experiment works moothly.(2) According to experiment teaching goals, diversity materials and control experiments were performed to set up exploring experiments effectively.(3)Establish experiment teaching goals suitably and organize teaching time effectively acording to experiment types. In addition,(4) Process the teaching material content, increased exploring experiments by the strategy that change some or all verification experiments to exploring experiments and try to explore the experiments again.The optimised experimental teaching plans was practiced in W school in Guiyang city, and then the exams results, including experiment tests, monthly exam, midterm exam and final exams, were evaluated between the students of 2 experimental classes and 2 controlled classes. The results show optimised experiment teaching is benificial to improve the students ability. It helps to improve both the total exam scores and the experiment part scores, and improve them memorizing ability, experimental operation ability and analytical ability. Moreove, acording to the experiment reports, it was showed that experiment teahing helps developing the student research ability, experimental ability, and using biological terminology to analyze experimental phenomena and results,. Lastly, inquiry-based experimental teaching offers students opportunities of cooperation, communication, and team work.It suggested that educators should pay more attention to training students’ experimental ability and Science literacy in biology experimental teaching, then holding oneself part fixed position exactly, improving experiment skills, conducting preliminary experiment before the class and correcting inappropriate plan on students feedback.
