Time management is not only an important part of management andpsychology research, but also an important part of educational theoretical andpractice research. However, time management research in the area of education ismostly distributed in adolescents, and on the relationship with other psychologicalvariables, with only a few intervention studies in pupils in the cities. Timemanagement research are mostly in speculative methods, lacking support ofempirical data. Research shows that pupils already have a sense of time management.So it is essential to launch colorful activities for pupils to improve their timemanagement ability. Rural boarding primary school is the main way to solve thecurrent problems of rural education. But because of the lack of infrastructure, thesingle extra-curricular activities, the makeup and self-study of the after school hoursin rural boarding primary schools, result in pupils grow in a particular narrow spacewith little freedom, which seriously hampered the healthy development of ruralboarding students.This study was designed to conduct a questionnaire survey on the pupils ofgrade five and six in the sample primary school. This study analyzed timemanagement status of the pupils in sample primary school, maked deep researches tofind out the time management disposition and its influential factors and proposed appropriate countermeasures and suggestions to improve time management level ofpupils in rural primary boarding schools. The main findings include the followingthree parts:Part Ⅰ: Time management of students in grade five and six in this rural boardingprimary school tends to be a high level, but there is a huge imbalance in it and its alldimensions and all aspects. Among them, the planning capacity, feedback capability,efficacy, Time management behavior self-efficacy and the time value of individualorientation is key to enhance their time management skills.Part Ⅱ: The factors: the rural boarding students’ time management is affected bystudents’ gender, age, and parents concern about their children’s learning subjectively,and inadequate school infrastructure and living facilities objectively.Part Ⅲ: Countermeasures: First, we should conduct education according tostudents’ difference, their different characteristics of male and female students, thedifferent characteristics of different students; second, we should take full advantageof the impact of teachers and parents, and guide students to actively look at andsolve their own problems; third, we should take out effective time managementtraining on the base of giving them enough space.Finally, we should enhance the value of students’ time management byproviding role models and enhancing their own experience.
