Economical&Social Benefit Study Of Hosting International Badminton Tournaments In Xi’an

With the success of Beijing Olympic Games, promoting the construction and development of the city by using sports events has been a trend. Successful constructions of many cities both abroad and home show that major international sports events brought enormous social and economic benefits to the hosting city, promoted the rapid development of city construction and enhanced the reputation of the city. Xi’an, the third international city approved by the State Council, to host major sports events must be a social development trend. Badminton movement is popular in Xi’an and has a promising future. Therefore, economical&social benefit study of hosting international badminton tournaments in Xi’an has theoretical and practical significance, and has a certain economic and social benefits.This paper utilizing the method of literature, questionnaire survey method and mathematical statistics method, deeply analyzed and discussed the relevant conditions of hosting international badminton tournaments, and arrived at the following conclusions:1. Xi’an has excellent sports atmosphere and solid masses base of badminton. Citizens attach great importance to badminton and hold positive and supportive attitudes to host international badminton tournaments.2. Xi’an’s economic development, city infrastructure and Human ecological environment contribute greatly to hosting international badminton tournaments. May to September in every year is tremendously suitable for hosting international badminton tournaments. Xi’an Olympic Sports Center Gymnasium which is under construction has laid an important foundation for Xi’an to host international badminton tournaments.3. Recently, a growing number of domestic and international sports events has been taken place in Xi’an, breakthrough has been made in badminton tournaments both in scale and influence.Meanwhile,sports events trend to be perfect in operation, helping Xi’an accumulate event experience to host international badminton tournaments.Hence, it is feasible to host international badminton tournaments in Xi’an.
