Research On Enhancing The Competitiveness Of Chengdu International Sports

With methods of documentary, logical analysis, comparative analysis, field survey method, comprehensive analysis method and some other research methods,the article investigates the present situation of Chengdu’s international sports events in such aspects as the quantity,scale and events; it researches on how to promote Chengdu’s competitiveness in holding international sports events in the following four factors: fundamentality, internationalities, brands, and specialization and makes comparisons with some international sports cities such as London,Paris,New york,Tokyo and Beijing;it analyzes the problems and influencing factors which exist in those sports events held in Chengdu and put forward the corresponding development suggestions so that it can provide viable basis for Chengdu in holding more and higher level sports events;it also explores how to build their own brand of sports culture,in order to promote Chengdu’s competitiveness of holding international sports events and build national sports center city.The results of the survey show that Chengdu’s international sporting events have gradually increased,and some of them have high qualities,so it has accumulated certain experience in hosting international sporting events and also has a certain basis. However,those sports events held in Chengdu have low participation rate and small influence,that mainly lies in its disadvantage of basic indicators. Compared with other sports center cities,it is obvious that Chengdu is falling behind in its economic strength, facilities, and the social environment,and the quality of those sports events held in Chengdu is very low,especially in internationalities,brands,human resources and specialization,this is why Chengdu is falling behind those cities. Furthermore,holding international sporting event is getting more and more intense and challengeable, the quality of Chengdu local brand sports events determines its capacity of holding larger-scale,high-level and more powerful sporting events.Chengdu cities is one of the most important cities with its great economy,culture,science and technology in the west of China, so it has a good development opportunity,huge market potential and a good advantage of reception capacity. Therefore,it comes up with the following development strategy in holding international sports events : Firstly,the development of the external environment. It includes speeding up the construction of chengdu’s economic environment,developing the third industry;Using the development opportunity and building a policy environment; building basic fixed targets and setting foundations for holding more influential international sports events. Secondly,the development of the internal construction. It includes further enhancing the construction of facilities,improving its quality and utilization after the game;Optimizing human resources management,and actively establishing a professional talent team; Paying attention to sports cultural cultivation;Focusing on the sports brand shaping and actively participating in international competitions; Paying attention to the sports event marketing depth; Creating unique sports center city. So that promoting Chengdu’s competitiveness in holding international sports events in its internationalities,brands,and specialization and from its internal and external aspects.
