| In recent years, with the intensification of the new curriculum reform, the significance of high school political teacher’s quality is prominent. It not only relates to the teacher’s own professional development, but also relates to the success or failure of education reform. The author combined previous research with her own field investigations, divided this article into five parts, and elaborated the problems of middle school ideological and political teachers’ quality under the new curriculum reform background.The first part:Introduction. It introduces the problems’proposition and the significance of the research, related research at home and abroad, research ideas and research methods.The second part:The new requirements that the new curriculum put forward for middle school politic teachers. After the implementation of new curriculum, middle school political lessons in the process of teaching are different from previous course requirements, such as the idea, modern teaching methods, teaching resources and so on. It’s also raised the new requirements for ideological and political teachers’ own knowledge structure, modern teaching methods, ethics and mental qualities.The third part:The situation of middle school political teacher’s quality. From the analysis of current situation, this part is presented in the form of questionnaire study. In the context of the new curriculum, the ability of middle school politic teachers shows the feature of non-adaption. Many problems need to be solved urgently:the teaching idea backwardness, obsolete teaching methods, lack of good psychological qualities and new media technology capability and so on.The fourth part:The main factors affecting the promotion of middle school political teacher’s quality. Although many reasons contributed to the teachers’ low quality, the problems mainly attributed to environmental aspects and their own reasons. Environmental aspects are:heavy academic pressure, low status of high school ideological and political teachers, unreasonable curriculum and teaching methods in higher normal schools, insufficient training for the teachers, less foreign exchange and so on. Their own ways:lack of dedication to work, part-time in severe cases, lack of professionalism, lack of self-development capacity, etc.The fifth part:The suggestions to enhance the middle school political teacher’s quality.Towards the situation that the environment and their own cause are both account for the low quality of middle school political teachers, this paper puts forward a series of suggestions from two aspects of administrators and teachers themselves:Managers should strengthen the management and create the external conditions to improve the middle school political teacher’s quality;Teachers individual achievement and accomplishment depends on their own efforts. |
