A Study Of The Application Of Micro Course In Moral Education In Junior Schools In China

This article identifies the strengths and weaknesses of Moral course in current junior schools in China. In order to improve the teaching quality of Moral course, author further exams the problem that this course contains then developed a new teaching technique called Micro-course and use it in daily teaching. By comparing with traditional teaching method, we discovered that Micro-course also has its own merits and limitations. To help us finding out whether Micro-course can effectively motivates students and improves student’s result, author developed an experimental program, we proceed this new method in an experimental class, then comparing students’ final exam results with other students from a class using traditional teaching method. A questionnaire survey has also been conducted in both classes to get feedback from students.The average result of this course from both classes were very similar before taking this program. After one semester, we use students’ final exam results as our primary measuring data, to make our measurement more accurate, four quizzes result from this semester was used as supplementary data. From comparing two classes’ average result, we found that Micro-course is effective in improving teaching quality as well as students’ results. The results from experimental class increased significantly. Furthermore, study shows that with the help of Micro-course, student’s capacity to understand and analyze key points from this course has also been improved too.According to the feedback from our survey, student’s prefer this new teach technique because it is more interesting, hence it gave them more motivation in independent learning.At last, author conclude the limitation in Micro-course’s developmentand problems raised when applying new teaching technique in real practice,author also recommend several ways to prevent those problems.
