In the year of 1924, Mr. Liu Tianhua started his teacher life in the music institute of Peking University which stands that Erhu has been introduced into art colleges as a professional major and has entered into a way of normalization as well as disciplinary. It is a historic step of the heritage and develop of Erhu. Erhu has made a rapidly development which is profited by the constantly exploration of performance laws undeniably not only in performance skills, but also in the richness of tracks and theoretical researches. After years of reform and opening up, more comprehensive universities and senior normal schools set up their majors of music which has provided a lot of Erhu students with the chances of further study. A trend of diversification emerged in the education of Erhu which also rose up the demands and determinations of Erhu teachers who wanted to find out the teaching laws of different levels and requirements. Honestly, since the standardization, the Erhu teaching system in senior normal schools has not broken away from the system of conservatory of music. In other words, conservatories of music are the source for the music majors of senior normal school to absorb art nutrients as well the model to formulate teaching models. Since the comparison is a method to find features and differences, we are not going to make matches here about the Erhu teaching and achievements between conservatories of music and senior normal schools. In fact, we seek for their respective teaching features and think of the classroom deeply from both subjective and objective factors. The author starts from the experiences of her undergraduate and graduate learning lives of these two kind of schools and combine the relevant teaching knowledge. Then the author analyzes the reasons of formation as well as features of the teaching modes from the two kind of schools. Afterwards, some referable points and suggestions are provided for Erhu teaching development direction and practical constructions.
