Research On The Archery Culture Of Yuan Ming And Qing Dynasties

Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties’ special historical environment result in a lot of their own unique performances in archery culture development during the periods. In this paper, the author uses methods of literature,historical analysis, logical analysis to take Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties’ archery culture as research objects, respectively from the three views of them activities in the archery culture, education and personnel selection system in the archery culture, and the social custom in archery culture and research the archery culture of the Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties, aiming at having a deeper interpretation and more comprehensive understanding of the social culture of the Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties.The main conclusion from the study: firstly, we can find function generalization characteristics in the development of archery culture in the Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties. Such as archery as the primary means of production and life has the function of a living to the people whether in the Yuan or Qing dynasties, and still has a strong reflection of the performance that everyone is good at riding and shooting. Another example is the function of the military struggle archery to expand the territory of the Yuan Dynasty; Again the Ming Dynasty’s shot ritual activities, the Qing Dynasty’s Mulan Autumn Hunting, etc. Archery indeed has diverse social functions. The source power to promote the development of this period is the generalization function of the archery. Secondly, the Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties’ cultural development has some common features. First of all, not only the Yuan and Qing dynasties’ national governments that are famous as the horse, but also the Ming Dynasty take great importance to the train of the riding and shooting skills and attention to improving weapons manufacturing, and so on. Followed by cultural integration archery and folk culture, the archery activities are welcomed by the people with its more towards to the direction of fitness and recreation development, such as the annual Mongolian Na a dam.Thirdly, Yuan, Ming dynasties’ archery cultural development behave differently at different times. Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties’ archery cultural development have different cultural expressions although the three dynasties commonly involve in military, education, manners, customs, etc…For example,more focused and highlights to the characteristics of nomadic hunting culture features in the Yuan Dynasty and Qing Dynasty’s archery culture; while Ming Dynasty’s archery culture is more inclined to shoot Confucian ritual cultural characteristics. And in order to consolidate the needs of the ruling regime, the governments whether Yuan or Qing Dynasty hold up to the extent of the violated state law to try to limit the practice shooting to the Han Chinese.
