Algorithm is increased in the new curriculum standards as a main clue and an important thought throughout the high school mathematics education. Sichuan Province started the implementation of the new curriculum standards in the year 2010. This paper studies the background, purpose and significance of penetration of algorithm, investigates the high school mathematics teachers’ and students’ understanding of algorithms penetration, analyses the current situation of students using the algorithm to solve problems based on the results of the investigation, probes in the algorithm on each chapter base, and puts forward some teaching strategy, method and suggestion in penetrating algorithm in high school mathematics teaching.
