Based on the need of history and reality, the history teaching of World War Ⅱ in middle school history is one of the most important contents. On one side, this war has two aspects of lessons, and which still has great impacts on today’s world as well as the international environment, such as the attitudes different countries towards history, game between great powers, and even sensitive topics like the history issue among Sino-Japanese relationship; on the other side, our students’ understanding of World War II exists with deviation, which can easily lead to an idolatrous, irrational, and immature mind. Is such a situation related to recent junior school history-teaching? How do teachers help students build a right historical and realistic cognition during the teaching process? Based on the thinking over the issues mentioned above, along with analysis of the teaching material and study of students’ cognition of this history period, this thesis aims to provide ideas and suggestions for the research and practice of the World War II teaching, which could achieve both student development and effective teaching, thus draw students’ attention to this historic period and determine their mind to work hard and seek peace, forming a proper overall view of history.
