Based on the needs of the era development and students’ physical and mental development, school-based curriculums are researched and developed independently and implemented under the guidance of experts and scholars by schools at all levels and various schools, which encourage teachers, students, parents and other community personnel to make full use of local resources. As the national curriculums and local curriculums’ continuation and supplement, school-based curriculums can improve students’ innovative and practice ability.This paper has a research and analysis on the relevant theories of developing the school-based curriculum first. It introduces the types of school-based curriculum and its development modes. Then From the aspects of their attitudes and the situations of knowledge mastery to diet, nutrition and health, and their eating behaviors, we can know middle school students’ cognition of diet and nutrition and understand their health status through a serious of questionnaire surveys. It also has a comprehensive analysis on the feasibility of developing the biological school-based curriculum named “explore food, care health”. Finally it conducts a design and development of the school-based curriculum on its goal, content and teaching strategies, etc. It still discusses the implementation process by using the concrete teaching cases and evaluates the school-based curriculum development through questionnaire surveys.The development and implementation of the school-based curriculum of “explore food, care health” is to correct their bad eating habits, train their reasonable consciousness of a healthy diet and satisfy the developmental requirements of their physical and mental by the way of imparting knowledge of diet and nutrition to students systematically. From the point of the implementation effect and evaluation result of the curriculum, it not only has got the given course objective and had the desired teaching effect, but also has interpreted the curriculum concept successfully, which the high school education should be oriented to all the students, improve their accomplishment of biological science and advocate the way to inquiry-based teaching.
