In the face of the existing problems of oral English, based on the years of experiences in English learning and English teaching and the communication with some students and teachers, the author did some research in the way of questionnaire survey to find out the problems of oral English teaching and the causes of them. According to these researches, the author found that there are a lot of problems such as the lack of students’ learning motivations, the impertinent learning strategies of students, the out-dated education concepts of the teachers and so on. Based on the analysis of the causes of these problems, the author puts forward some countermeasures to improve senior high school students’ English oral communicative ability, including: the perfection and development of the education system, change the evaluation system, improve the basic teaching conditions, pay attention to the teacher’s own development, improve the quality of teachers working environment, reform the English teaching in classroom, change the teaching idea, improve the classroom efficiency, improve students’ learning strategy, cultivate the autonomous learning ability and so on.This paper is divided into seven parts. The first part is the introduction, mainly points out the background and significance of the study; the second part is the literature review, through the literature research, elaborated the domestic research achievements on external language learning; the third part is the select the theoretical basis, this text; the fourth part is the research design, including research contents, research object and research method and so on; the fifth part is mainly about the analysis of the questionnaire and interview,the problem the author has found and the causes of these problems; the sixth part is about the countermeasures to improve senior high school students’ English communicative ability; and the last part is the conclusion of this paper, pointing out the shortage of this paper and the continue research in the future.
