The Senior Chinese Curriculum Standard (Experimental manuscript) points out that good oral communicative skill is a major quality of modern citizens. Oral communicative skill plays an important role in students'lifelong development and the development of society as well. With the rapid development of modern science and technology, more frequently humans communicate with each other, which means that the requirements in communicative skills for students are higher than before.However, in China, we always do not attach much importance to improving students'communicative skill in our school education. Therefore, the implementation of spoken communication teaching is very unsatisfactory. This thesis is aimed at analyzing the present situation of spoken communication teaching by referring to a great deal of information and conducting questionnaire among the students and teachers and so on. The writer tries to find out efficient spoken communication teaching strategies based on the relevant theory. The thesis is divided into three parts: introduction; body and summary. The body part consists of four parts:the review and reflection on spoken communication teaching, the meaning and significance of spoken communication, the theoretical basis for spoken communication, teaching strategies to improve spoken communication.The writer points out the existence of errors in spoken communication by analyzing the errors of concept, errors of theoretical guidance, errors of practical operation and the misunderstandings in the evaluation. On the basis of constructivist theory, life-oriented education theory, cooperative learning, the writer establishes situational view of teaching spoken communication, life view of teaching spoken communication, humanistic view of teaching oral communication, the view of co-operative learning of oral communication teaching and designs suitable oral communication training contents by Learning from the experience of foreign teaching of oral communication, making the implementation of teaching oral communication effective by constructing context, showing initiative, cooperating, interacting, enhancing self-efficacy and so on.
