Classical poem, a shining stone having existed for thousands of years, is still sparkling in every angle. Classical poetry is of great importance in high school Chinese teaching. Classical poem takes great proportion in current PEP textbook, covering big amount, rich themes, large time span and beautiful language. Classical poems takes large proportions in CSAT language papers. Moreover, classical poem teaching also has significant practical value, which can not only help cultivate noble moral sentiment and develop healthy aesthetic sentiment, but also promote excellent national culture. Curriculum standard also shows the importance of classical poem teaching, requiring that classical poem teaching should pay attention to cultivate students` reading habit,emphasize the reading experience and increase students` accumulation amount. Compared to the requirement of curriculum standard, we can find that there are so many problems existing in nowadays high school classical poem teaching classes. On one hand, many Chinese teachers are using outmoded teaching method with old teaching method and poor literature accomplishment; on the other hand, the motivation for students to learn is single, just for College Entrance Examination. Students have weak foundation and little interest for learning classical poem. On the basis of the comprehensive analysis of found problems and in accordance with curriculum standard, this thesis puts forward strategies like comprehensively improving the quality of teachers, arousing students` interest and improving teaching methods to improve high school classical poem teaching.
