Chinese character is one of the world’s oldest characters, containing a rich culture. As thecarrier of Han Nationality culture, Chines character shoulders heavy responsibilities forinheriting national culture. Chinese character is called as the fifth largest civilization of China,with each having its own story. It uses a special way to record the history of nationaldevelopment and inherit Chinese nation’s spirit and culture. As an indispensable part ofHuaxia culture, Chinese character is not only a tool of interpersonal communication, but alsoa precious asset that our ancestors left.However, with the rapid development of economy and continuous improvement ofcomputer network technology, people begin to stay away from pen and paper gradually, andits writing mode also changes from original “handwriting” to current “hand knocking”. Thefast pace of work and life makes people simplify writing slowly without caring about itsorigin, meaning and how to make the written character both correct and beautiful any more,which lead to the overall decline of students’ writing level. Especially the writing status ofstudents in our remote and backward rural junior high school is more worrying. junior highschool is an important stage of basic education, and the curriculum standards demand juniorhigh school students to write correct, normative and neat characters following the stroke order,but very few junior high school students in rural areas meet such requirements. Improvingrural junior high school students’ standard writing and application ability in compulsoryeducation period concerns the enhancement of national overall writing level. Therefore, it isimperative to resolve the Chinese character writing problems of rural junior high schoolstudents.By surveying the writing status of rural junior high school students, this paper learns thefactors that affect their writing of standard Chinese characters, as well as conducts analysisand demonstration combining with the junior high school Chinese course standards andprimary and secondary school’s calligraphy education guidelines. In addition, this paper alsorecommends appropriate countermeasures that can effectively improve rural middle schoolstudents’ Chinese character writing level. It strives to promote their writing ability and enhance their cultural literacy, and thus to achieve the purpose of inheriting Chinese nation’sexcellent Chinese character culture.
