In intimate relationships, sacrifice refers to behaviors that individuals in order to improve therelationship to give up immediate interests or benefit partner.Sacrifices can be passive, may also be active.Sacrifices can be explained and measured by the expense of motives, including approach and avoidancemotives, approach motives tends to enhance the well-being of companion,while avoidance motives focuson evading negative outcomes,such as conflict.In this study, based on the collation and analysis of existingresearch, discussed university students sacrifice motives and the effects on the intimate relationship andthe regulation of the attachment.This study selected436students at Xuchang, Henan University College who are in intimaterelationship,using a variety of statistical methods, came the following conclusions:(1)There are significantly different with different gender and professions college students anddifferent states of love college students on approach motives and avoidance motives.The mainlyperformances is that male students approach motives and avoidance motives was significantly higher thanfemale students; engineering college students have strongest approach motives and avoidance motives,artscolleges have weakest approach motives and avoidance motives; colleges being in love compared withsingle showed stronger approach motives, single college students have had experience of love comparedwith single students who has no love experience showed weaker approach motives.(2)In romantic relationships, approach and avoidance motives have a significant correlation withthe quality of intimate relationships.Approach motives significantly predicted the quality of intimaterelationships, that is college students who has a high approach motives college students tend to have ahigher quality of intimate relationships.(3)Attachment styles moderate approach motives and the quality of intimate relationships,concrete performance is that secure and fearful, dismissive attachment students who are in love, once madesacrifices, can enhance the quality of intimate relationships.
