This is an evolving knowledge-based economy. Education is no longer confined to spread the memoryrequirements, solid knowledge. It is not only to "Give a man a fish, but “to teach the man how to fish ". Inthis information, technology, work and social environment rapidly changing era, to teach students how toquickly understand the knowledge, how to master effective learning methods became the top priority. Thisrequires teachers to seek new teaching methods, develop of new learning tools and cognitive strategies,helping students to improve the knowledge structure and the associated, which promote the understandingof knowledge and memory.Knowledge visualization is developed on the basis of scientific data visualization and informationvisualization, and gradually became the focus of attention. In the education, visual representation of know-ledge visualization is gradually widely application. People begin to focus on the role and impact ofknowledge visualization brought to the knowledge’s innovation and dissemination. What problems andopportunities can visual representation of knowledge visualization brings to education. How can we betterimprove teaching effectiveness and improve teaching efficiency? Those problems are concerned by people.Knowledge visualization visual representations’ emergence, development and application in the field ofeducation, make it become a kind of important educational technology, cognitive tools gradually.Knowledge visualization as a catalyst plays an important role in the process of teaching. It helps teachers touse straightaway acceptable teaching methods, to stimulate students’ learning initiative, making the processof teaching on the basis of psychological that students want to learn, willing to learn, be keen on learning.So that students ’ learning ability constantly sublimation, achieving the purpose of promoting effectiveteaching.This paper describes the related concepts of visual representation in knowledge visualization. It gives thedefinitions of visualization and knowledge visualization, characterization and visual representati-on, visual representation of knowledge visualization. According to the theory of dual coding theory, brainscience, cognitive psychology theory and the visual theory, through surveys such as literature review,questionnaire, analysis the feasibility of the visual representation of knowledge visualization’s applicationsin biology teaching and experimental verification. Finally, though analysis of interviews with teachers, summarize the process of knowledge visualization problems and solutions strategy. As follows:(1) Knowledge visualization theory needs further strengthening.(2)Teachers’ consciousness of the use of knowledge visualization in visual representation should bestrengthened.(3) The software designed for knowledge visualization in visual representation requires further optimize.(4) Knowledge visualization applications can not be a mere formality.
