This paper intends to study the educational idea,thought and practice of Mr.Yang Songxuan,a famous Shaanxi educator in late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China.Mr.Yang Songxuan was born in an ordinary farmer who attached great importance to education and received a complete old-style education since childhood.In his youth,he learned from a reformist thinker and educator of the modern style of Shanxi Province,Mr.Liu Guangfen.After being infected by the ideas of a generation of masters and exemplified by examples of practicing education,he propagated the ideas and ideas of modern and modern education all his life,and set up a school for self-cultivation,including a school of maintenance,and a model girls' school attached to the Huazhou Education Association.Huaxian Private Xianlin Middle School,Industrial remedial School and other new schools,training a considerable number of talents.These achievements in the annals of history in the late Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Republic of China were very difficult and difficult for the people to change their lives in the society at the end of the Qing Dynasty.Even Shaanxi education culture backward appearance has made the extremely important contribution.Yang Songxuan's educational ideas and thoughts are rich in connotation,profound significance,rich in the spirit of the times and realistic pertinence.These include: taking patriotism education as the core,modern scientific knowledge and humanistic knowledge as the basis,the selection system to expand the students' rich knowledge as a supplement,relying on the rigorous and pragmatic management system,and innovating the selection criteria for teachers.Pay attention to cultivate students in moral,intellectual,physical,beauty,labor and other aspects of all-round development,attach importance to the combination of teaching and social practice,so that students form a sound personality,become a new type of useful talent to promote social progress.By systematically combing and analyzing Yang Songxuan's ideology and educational practice,this paper reflects the historical process of the transformation of local education in Huaxian County,Shaanxi Province,in the late Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Republic of China.To reveal the development process of Yang Songxuan,a scholar who has changed from an old-style scholar to a modern-type intellectual,and his achievements in overcoming the difficulties of joining in the new-style educational practice,and showing the great educationists who have sealed the dust in history to people.So that we can learn Mr.Yang Songxuan's broad feelings and noble qualities,and strive to contribute to the modernization of our education.
