Sports interest is one of the most important means to promote the understanding of thesports knowledge, build the initiative into physical exercise, and improve the body interests ofthe middle school students. How to encourage secondary school physical education teachersto improve students’ interest in sports in the normal sports teaching is also the issue that sportsresearchers have been exploring into. Through the long-term discussion with the experts andthe students, it is suggested that animation can be put into the normal sports education toenhance students’ interest in sports. In this paper, many research methods are included, namely,literature review, research expert interviews, questionnaires, field trips, experiments, andmathematical statistics.First,300pieces of questionnaires concerning animation in sports education are handedout randomly to middle school students of10secondary schools of Changchun City. Thestatistics of the questionnaires are analyzed and the conclusion is concluded: most studentsare supportive and interested and willing to accept this animation teaching method. The nextstep is the experimental period, two classes of Jilin Experimental School are selected asexperimental class and control class.The animation teaching method is used in experimental class and at the same time thecontrol class follows the normal teaching procedure. After six weeks of experiment, theexperimental class and control class students are analyzed. Students’ interests, activeparticipation and initiative of education learning in the experimental class and control class isboth P<0.01, which shows a very significant difference. The conclusion is that the majority ofstudents are willing to accept the sports animation teaching method, and this teaching methodcan achieve the purpose of enhancing students ‘interest, increase students understanding, andeffectively encourage students to take part in sports initiatively. It is recommended thatconcerned departments, schools, parents support the change of traditional teaching method,enhance the overall quality of the physical education teachers, strengthen the industrialdevelopment of China’s sports animation and promote the implementation of this animationpedagogy.
