Derivative is in a special position in senior high school mathematics curriculum. It is a key content.It gives a shot way in studying function,prove of inequality,solution of equation, sum of numbersequence. It is also a bridge between junior mathematics and senior mathematics. So, the teachingdesign of derivative will help teachers to teach it better and students will feel that the mathematics isuseful.This paper tries to study the "derivative and its application" of this unit, to improve the classroomteaching on the one hand, so that the students can use derivatives to solve function problems, on theother hand,hope to provide reference and help for other colleagues.Firstly, through literaturereview described some derivative teaching present situation as well as the definition of teachingdesign and theoretical basis,once again explore the design derivative teaching case,actual effect andthrough the actual teaching to test case. At the end of the paper, I give some conclusions andsuggestions on teaching derivative.
