Derivative-type of teaching design in middle school is a new teaching ideas (also as a teaching strategy) which derived from traditional Chinese teaching and correct the departure from teaching aim in the new curriculum. It is beneficial to change the mechanical, programmed defects of traditional language teaching. It is significant to overcome the deviation from teaching objectives, time-consuming and inefficient in the new curriculum reform. From the investigations of the current types of language teaching state, combined with the analysis of derivative-type of.teaching, this paper makes a research on derivative-type of teaching design in middle school. The main content of paper are as follows:The first part is the review of related study. From the relevant research of chinese teaching design and derivative-type of teaching, the paper clarifies the achievement and insufficient of current research on language and lay the foundation for future research. This section tells "why derive".The second and third part are the values and basic requirements of middle school language teaching. The teaching values is explained mainly from three dimensions: the unity of community and innovation that based on the needs of the society; the unity of individualized and humanity based on the development of students; and the unity of basic and diversity on the basis of materials use. The three values are complementary and blending gradually. The basic requirements of derivative-type of teaching including its characterization and conditions. The characterization contains the opening of education system, creativity of teaching process and diversity of learning process.While the democratic, harmonious relationship between teachers and students, the integration of teaching time and space, and effective teaching strategies are the conditions of derivative-type of teaching.This section describes the question of "derivative what".The fourth and fifth part gavies case samples of derivative-type of teaching design in middle school. The research mainly focus on the design of teaching content, concept and design ideas. The teaching concept includes the flexibility, combintion of teaching process and learning process and production of knowledge of teaching design. Teaching design ideas includes the following five parts:the expansion of teaching space, an extension of teaching content, the integration of learning process, the integralization of learning approach and optimization of student evaluation.
