| In order to ensure the steady and sustainable development of China’s higher education, the Ministry of Education has developed a system of five years round of the undergraduate college teaching evaluation. So far the second round of assessment work is coming to an end. Practice shows that carrying out the teaching evaluation has played a huge role in supervising and improving the teaching quality in universities. In China, all levels of colleges and universities carry an important task of providing a large number of outstanding talents for the country. In order to meet the needs of social development, higher education has transformed from elite education to mass education continuously, and private colleges and secondary colleges are springing up all over the country. With the rapid development of private education, the public have to doubt if there are quality assurances of the running conditions, teaching staff and educational resources, and if the talents training is qualified for private colleges. To start rest assured education, private colleges also actively participate in the teaching evaluation. Even so, China has not yet set up a special system for private colleges teaching evaluation. It is in this background that the author chooses the private colleges teaching evaluation to do some research, which has certain theoretical and practical significance.After the questionnaire investigation and interview method were adopted in four Civilian-run Colleges and universities, different teaching evaluation problems of Civilian-run Colleges and universities have been found in four aspects:the evaluation index, the subject of evaluation, the implementation of evaluation and the evaluation result, among which the problem of the evaluation index is the main one. Nowadays, the Civilian-run Colleges and universities apply the same system of the evaluation index as the common colleges and universities (i.e. the Evaluation Scheme of Undergraduate Teaching Work for common colleges and universities evaluates program (try out)). This index system has a wide scope of evaluation and plays as a good guiding role. However, it doesn’t meet the requirements of various developments in higher education because it lacks pertinence and adopts the unified standard to evaluate different levels and types of schools.At last, the dissertation is developed according to the following train of thoughts—asking, analyzing and solving questions. Firstly, based on the original college teaching evaluation project, combining with the characteristics of running school for private college, the dissertation constructs private college teaching evaluation index system by the applying of Balanced Scorecard. Secondly, it also makes some suggestions on the evaluation subject, the implementation of evaluation and the optimization of the feedback of the evaluation result. By this research, the writer wants to establish a teaching evaluation index system which is characteristic by’commonness and individuality’. And this system will be more suitable for the development of the private college teaching. The designing of the index system can be further improved due to the limitation of time, personal condition and the writer’s major. However, the writer’s thoughts and the basic framework of this system make great contributions to the perfecting of the college evaluation system. |
