| This paper is a translation project report on the translation of company internal publications. The texts were translated by the writer when he was assigned to the translation center of Huawei as an intern. In this paper, the writer analyzed the features of the source texts and put forward translation methods under the guidance of Eugene Nida’s functional equivalence theory.This report consists of five parts:Part One is a brief introduction to the translation background and purpose; Part Two is a brief introduction to Eugene Nida’s functional equivalence theory and its guidance on this project; Part Three is devoted to the analysis of the source text features; Part Four focuses on the translation methods under the guidance of functional equivalence; Part Five serves as the summing-up of what has been discussed.According to the paper, an equivalent translation work can be possibly produced only when the translator has acquired a deep understanding of the source text, read large numbers of parallel texts, and conducted an in-depth analysis of the features of the source text. In addition, the translator should keep in mind the differences between Chinese and English and adopt appropriate translation methods. |
