| This report is based on the project I have participated during the internship period. The source material, as the nomination file of the Zuojiang Huashan Rock Paintings Cultural Landscape, introduces the master plan for the conservation and management of the area by illustrating planning methods and specific protective measures to gain professional approval from the world Heritage Committee. The report consists of five parts. The first part is the introduction, which brings about the background, goals, significance of the task and the whole structure of the report. The second part analyses the source, content and language features of the source material. The third part presents the preparation work and difficult points encountered in the translation process including professional vocabulary, four-character expression, non-subject sentences and textual cohesion. The fourth part, as the main body of the report, mainly introduces the Skopos Theory, and under the guidance of its Fidelity-rule, Skopos rule and Coherence rule, some translation methods are adopted to deal with the corresponding difficult points. The fifth part summarizes the lessons learned from the translation project and points out the problems to be solved. |
