Chinese language is very rich with adverbs, it is the characteristic of Chinese which is distinct from other languages. Chinese people use a large number of adverbs in their daily communication, the adverb is quite important language means in Chinese language. So if Chinese learners can acquire well Chinese adverb, that means they may find the important key to study Chinese. But in Chinese the more common used adverbs have many different senses, the usage is also so complicated and difficult to learn them. The Adverb "hai"which is studied in this paper is a typical example of this kind of adverb. Due to the complexity and variety of the adverb "hai", when Chinese learners use it, often use wrong, make a large number of errors.The thesis consists of five parts, the specific contents are:The first chapter is the introduction part, which includes the reason, the research summary, the research content and methods.The second chapter is about research summary of adverb "hai". In this chapter, the author selects four kinds of representative modern Chinese grammar books and dictionaries, classifying the senses of the adverb "hai". Moreover, according to the predecessors’ research and the author’s own understanding, the author made the sense classification and syntax features.In the third chapter, basis on the research of "HSK dynamic composition corpus", which is developed by Beijing Language and Culture University, the paper collect the errors made by foreign students, and divides the incorrect sentences into three types of error. Besides the author selecting some errors which students make mistake a lot, finding the mistake, and very carefully explained the reasons of the error. According to the results of the study, made a brief summary.The fourth chapter is about the questionnaire of the foreign students acquisition of adverb "hai".The fifth chapter is about the error reason and teaching suggestion.The author according to the result of quistionnare and statistic analysis of the HSK dynamic composition corpus, basis on the statistic analysis of error classification, summarized the error reason of the adverb "hai". Thus, the author thinks that the teaching material is the main reason for the error of the foreign students, and put forward some practical suggestions for teaching mateiral.
