GuiFu,who was born in Qu Fu, Shandong province,is one of the most influential scholars in the Qing dynasty between Qianlong and Jiaqing. As a notable figure in calligraphy in the middle period of qing dynasty,He accomplished deep in philology, stone plate aspects of textual research, calligraphy, seal cutting. He has extraordinary insights of official script origin from the perspective of philology research and evaluation of official script at the beginning of the Qing dynasty,Using the opinion that "Mou Zhuan and official script are interlinked" on the creation of seal cutting, he provided a theoretical basis of the seal cutting art development in the late middle period of Qing dynasty.Under the background of textology and the inscription on stone tablet from the middle period of Qing dynasty philology, and with the textual research method and the comprehensive study method, and basing on his poetry, writing, calligraphy seal cutting works which provide information, documents and pictures, from GuiFu font size, chamber test analysis, and with his contemporaries poetry, painting, stone circle of textual research of the academic circle of friends textual research, This paper try to explore the root causes of GuiFu’s academic studies to his calligraphy and seal cutting art creation.On this basis, by means of combing han tablets he seen and his works, making the study of GuiFu into early, middle and late 3 period in detail, illustrates the difference of his calligraphy style. At the same time, this paper objective expounds the important influence of his official script work to the notions and styles of contemporary scholars such as YiBingShou, Huangyi and the later generation scholars such as ZhaiYunSheng, Guoxiaohua.
