Huang Zuo’s Contributions To Bibliography Of History

Huang Zuo is a famous historian, moralist,literature in Ming Dynasty.He produced a lot of influential works on the branch of Confucian classics, history, philosophy and belles-letters. The historical works is representative of his literature achievements. Nowadays one of Huang Zuo’s work often been regarded as the center of the research or the basic historical materials in the research of academic circle. However, the feature and the value of Huang Zuo’s historical work haven’t been studied systemstically and deeply.This thesis is mainly focused on fully studying Huang Zuo’s historical literature based on Ge Chu Yi Shi,Han Lin Ji,Nan Yong Zhi,Guang Zhou Ren Wu Zhuan,Gung Zhou Fu Zhi,Guang Xi Tong Zhi,Xiang Shan Xian Zhi,Luo Fu Shan Zhi,Guang Dong Tong Zhi.By combing,analyzing,summarizing the lives of HuangZuo and his historical works which include backgrounds,contents,values,shortcomings in order to expect that this thesis can provide some convenience for Ming Dynasty history scholars using some of Huang Zuo’s historical works.This thesis consists of three parts:The first part is focused on the introduction of Family Academic Context, officials career,Companionship experiences and main works to Huang Zuo.The second part elaborates Huang Zuo’s historical works which mainly combs out the backgrounds,spreading, the source of historical materials, processing method and main contents of each historical works.The Third section mainly focused on the value of Huang Zuo’s history works. Reflected from three aspects, namely the preservation of historical material, invocation of history and the stdy of Huang Zuo’s Neo-Confucianism.The Fourth section mainly focused on the shortcomings of his works. Reflected from three aspects, namely insufficient historical material source, error recorded epic and historical thought limitation.
