The number of multinational company is growing annually and business communications are becoming increasingly frequent as well. In recent years, the demands for foreign language talents with relevant knowledge of electronic commerce have increased dramatically. Interpreting, as an important method of communication, has been widely used in today’s international communication.The speech New Opportunity and New Challenge of E-Commerce: Strategic Thinking on Transnational Integration delivered in the Fourth Session of China Association of Trade in Services by Professor Wang Jian is selected as material to be interpreted in this thesis for practice report. This report analyzes the difficulties that can occur in the process of C-E interpreting, discussing countermeasures to problems. This report consists of six parts. In introduction, background information, objective and significance of this report are introduced. Chapter One introduces the background and characteristics of the task. Chapter Two contains the preparation, process and feedback of interpreting. Chapter Three analyzes the difficulties in the process of interpreting:(1) the lack of background information,(2) the confusion in logic structure and redundancy in note-taking,(3) the lack of economic-related terminologies,(4) obstacles in interpreting of long and complicated sentences. The fourth chapter focuses on solutions and coping strategies:(1) making full preparation for the consecutive interpreting to reduce the psychological pressure,(2) optimizing logic structure and abstracting key words of note-taking to resolve confusion in logic structure and redundancy in note-taking,(3) using literal translation, semantic translation and transliteration methods to interpret economic terminologies,(4) splitting and recasting the long and complicated Chinese sentences. In conclusion, the author summarizes the simulated consecutive interpreting report and analyzes deficiencies.
