The Central Committee of the Communist Party of China about Some Important Problems in Building a Harmonious Socialist Society explicitly pointed out that we should pay more attention to the mental harmony of people and reinforce the humanistic care and psychological counseling.The CPC comes up with the mental harmony in the policy document specifically, which has opened up a new path for education about the mental health.The author who looks up the literature about the research of the mental harmony found that the research about mental harmony is hot, while the minority of the mental harmony research pay attention to the middle school students’ mental harmony. Teenagers’ mental harmony is important to build a harmonious socialist society, and they bring the hope to our country. But the middle school students’ mental state is in what level exactly? In case of studying it clearly, this study uses the middle school students as the research object, which wants to explore the middle school students’ mental harmony state and use the group counseling to intervene the middle school students’ mental harmony state.Study 1: The survey of the middle school students’ mental harmony state.The study selects two middle schools in Hebei Province as subjects randomly and makes a general survey through the National Harmonious Mental Status Questionnaire. These questionnaires which were retrieved are analyzed by SPSS19.0.Study 2: The Group Counseling on the middle school students’ mental harmony state.Participants: The experimental group has 31 participants, the control group has 30 participants. They are all come from the selected middle school in Hebei Province.Methods: The pretest were done to the experimental group and control group separately, the scores of the questionnaires were analyzed by the SPSS19.0. The author made a set of group counseling projects according to the Chinese Academy of Science psychological harmony project group’s definition of the psychological harmony and its National Harmonious Mental Status Questionnaire in order to improve the experimental group members’ mental harmony.The experimental group accepted the intervention, and the control group didn’t accept the intervention. After the intervention, the experimental group and the control group again fill theNational Harmonious Mental Status Questionnaire, meanwhile the experimental group members still need to fill the sheet about the evaluation of group activity and hand in homework. After all the group counseling activities, the experimental group and control group are tested, the data of the pre-test and the post-test are all analyzed by SPSS19.0 and the author will discuss the reasons.The main conclusions are as follows:1.The middle school students’ mental harmony state is lower than commonly used model students.2.There exists a huge difference between girls and boys. Girls` mental harmony state is much better than boys.3.The grade eight students’ mental harmony state is the worst among the junior high school group. The senior high school group students’ mental harmony state and the junior high school group students’ mental harmony state has little difference.4.It influences little whether you are the only child in your family or you are the non-only child, whether you are a monitor in your class or you are not a monitor, and whether you live in urban or rural.5.Group counseling is effective to improve middle school students’ mental harmonious level.
