CDIO(conceive, design, implement and operate)Engineering Education Mode was created by MIT, KTH Royal Institute of Technology and other four universities during 2000 and 2004, sponsored by Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation. The integrated CDIO curriculum system is built on the whole production cycle, which is from product development, product operation, product maintenance to product disposal. Since it was introduced into China in 2005, CDIO Engineering Education Mode has greatly promoted the Chinese Engineering Education. In March 2013, the interpreter, who was commissioned by Heilongjiang Polytechnic, accompanied two electrical engineering teachers to attend 2013 Asian CDIO Engineering Education Conference in Singapore. The interpretation contents are CDIO Engineering Education Conference keynote speeches and some discussion workshops, which were carried out in consecutive interpretation and escort interpretation.Great success though it has made in China’s education practice in the past ten years, it still needs some necessary changes to suit China’s actual educational situation so that a CDIO Engineering Education Mode with Chinese characteristics will be created. The final goal of the interpreting practice is to introduce the latest theory and the research findings of CDIO Engineering Education Mode and to guide interpreting practice with the help of the Interpretative Theory of Translation. In the course of the interpretation, such interpreting strategies as information paraphrasing, information distilling, literal translation, free translation, transliteration, amplification and conversion etc are used to meet the lexical features of CDIO Engineering Education terms and the syntactic characteristics of academic conferences. Features of the people’s pronunciation in some Asian countries are classified and the strategies in dealing with these features are made in the hope of providing reference for other interpreters in their future career.
