The Practice Report Of Mock Press Conference For Premier Wen

The mock conference interpretation practice report comes from the mockinterpreting practice of the2010press conference of Premier Wen Jiabao. A series ofpreparation were made before the mock conference practice and some strategies andskills were used in certain parts as well as some temporary skills in interpretation.Therefore, the whole task was successfully completed.There are five parts in total: mock conference description, preparation of theinterpretation, conference process description, interpretation practice and conclusion.Mock conference description is a brief introduction of the whole practice includingthe goals, conditions, overall tasks and the expected result effect.Preparation of the interpretation introduces the work before mock conferecne, includingsearch the memoir of Premier Wen’s press conference from2005to2009, majordomestic and international events and a glossory of words and phases concerning politicsand economy.Conference process description introduces the general situation of the practice,including staff and their work, performance and certain preparation before the mockconference. Moreover, the process of the conference, staff performance and liveinterpreting performance are also introduced.Interpretation practice is mainly concerned with the strategies in reorginizing longsentences, the translating strategy of ancient Chinese poems, the translation of academicword and phrases and personal gains. This is the important part of the wholeinterpretation practice which puts some examples together, introducing differentstrategies in consective interpretation, especially from Chinese to English. Besides, thestrategies used by myself and dealing with different interpreting conditions are alsointroduced in this part.Finally, there is a conclusion from this interpretation practice, which will provideuseful information and guidance for future practice.
