He went through the great changes in Russian society and thus, his works centered on his personal experiences. He created a great many of works in his life, including novels, proses and dramas. And his works are rich in humanitarian ideas and in the aspect of arts, magic and reality as well as history and future interweave in his works, which is of great literary value. Master And Margarita paves way for magic realism. Therefore, critics call Mikhail Bulgakov an epoch-making writer. The novelettes of Mikhail Bulgakov comprehensively embody the characteristics of magic realism. Although Mikhail Bulgakov was deeply affected by Russian religious ideas, he was not religiously pious, which enabled him to have deep understanding about the Bible and religion and keep his own independence in artistic creation. As for artistic characteristics, Mikhail Bulgakov’s novelettes jointly creates a world without God. He was good at give a modernistic explanation of the important theological propositions in the Bible, including the creation of the world, brothers’ conflicts, sufferings and Messiah, in the world of the loss of divinity. For the thinking style of his works, he was not restricted by religion and theology. Instead, he was concerned about the society when he deconstructed and reshaped the theological propositions above. He kept the radicalism trend of his times at arm’s length. And he mercilessly criticized the violent revolution’s way of destroying moral orders. In his view, the Messiah who can revitalize Russian nationality is among Russians. However, this primitive “natural force” contains the inherent weaknesses of Russian nationality. In addition only moral and kindness can ultimately save the Russian nationality and it is intellectuals’ responsibility to keep moral and kindness.Based on the theological propositions of the creation of the world, brother’s conflicts, sufferings and Messiah in Christianity, text analysis as well as Fyre’s biblical criticism theory, choosing the representative works of Mikhail Bulgakov’s novelettes and combing the classic discussion and dystopian theory in Russian religious philosophy, this article deeply analyzes the irony stimulation of the Bible in Mikhail Bulgakov’s novelettes, explores the underlying ideas and value-orientation of him and seeks the artistic value of his works.
