Mi Bulgakov is a representative writer from the twentieth Century. Because of the conflict with the mainstream ideology at that time his works were "frozen" for many years, even weren't published during his lifetime. However, now these works are have become an independent school style for its profound thought connotation and wide spread.Throughout the writer's creation, whether it is early novella, or classical novel < The White Guard>and<The Master and Margarita>,all of them have revealed a strong symbolic, like that connotation of endless. Perhaps that's why it has attracted many scholars to continue to explore the various aspects of his novel. This paper will start from the angle of symbol with two of Bulgakov's novels. We try to analyze the different characters, plot, theme in different works, and how the writer constructed a large, multi semantic symbol system, which not only reflected in the symbolic details, but also in the structure and theme of forming a symbolic work as a whole. The introduction part briefly introduces the author, concludes the research status at home and abroad, summarizes the key works of Bulgakov and refines the part of the thesis, points out the research significance of this paper. After that the paper is divided into three chapters: the first chapter makes a statement from a religious angle, combined with the analysis of characters to reveal the symbolic themes; the second chapter analyzes the symbolic structure of his works; the third chapter focuses on the specific natural imagery throughout the novel, analyze its symbolic significance. Finally it's the conclusion of this thesis.
