Impact Of Kangxi Polychrome Porcelain On Engravings During Late Ming And Early Qing Periods

Kangxi period is the fastigium of Polychrome porcelain arts. Based on cultural background, Kangxi polychrome decoration had been developed. It also inherited traditional ceramic decorations, referenced to traditional art categories. Engravings prevailing at that time made a profound impact on that.This article described and compared the relations and mutual impact between Kangxi polychrome decoration and engravings.Through elaborating and comparison, I came up with new questions and make the relations behind them clearer and also broaden the research fields for engravings and new scope of mind for Kangxi polychrome arts, provide reference for ceramic arts and uncover the theory behind the impact.
